Advanced Water Purification: Water Treatment
Imagine being caught in a blizzard, a hurricane, or a sandstorm-but instead of just reading about it, you experience it firsthand in a virtual world. That’s the goal of this project: an interactive course on extreme weather, designed to teach students about different weather conditions, their environmental impact, and survival strategies.
Challenge
How might we make a complex and often unpleasant topic like water purification feel trustworthy, engaging, and visually appealing in VR? The goal was to educate users without overwhelming them or triggering discomfort. We needed to simplify scientific content while maintaining accuracy and clarity. This required thoughtful design decisions and close collaboration across disciplines.
Results
The VR experience made learning about water purification easier and more enjoyable. Users felt more confident in their understanding, and the visuals helped reduce hesitation around the topic. Friendly characters and thoughtful design kept engagement high.

Conclusion
This project was an incredible learning experience, especially in VR UI/UX and character design. I loved experimenting with interface styles, finding creative accessibility solutions, and bringing bacteria to life in a non-intimidating way. Watching it all come together as an immersive experience made the hard work worth it.
What I learned: Balancing playful design with functional education in VR.
Key takeaway: How interdisciplinary collaboration elevates a project.
Excitement for the future: Seeing how users react to our work and how they might view tap water differently after experiencing it!
